Jam band fans flocked to Mariaville, New York (near Albany) August 17 - 20 for the Gathering of the Vibes, a festival featuring Hit Tuna, New Riders of the Purple Sage and Bob Weir and RatDog as part of an extensive lineup. The Terrapin Stage loudspeaker rig consisted of Adamson Pro Audio Y10 line arrays, 32 of them altogether, placed at stage right and left positions. Also in use were a dozen of the company’s new T21 subwoofers. It’s a pretty exciting new product. It’s a different kind of sub; they engineered a 21” speaker for it, and, as a result you can use one to replace three or four double-18 boxes. Output wise, it’s unbelievable - and the quality of the sound is great too. In addition, six QSC ISIS 152M’s were used for front and side fill and 16 McCauley SM95 1 monitor speakers were spread around the stage. On the second stage, sixteen Adamson Y10’s were used, with front fill supplied by QSC’s ISIS 102X’s, and more McCauley boxes in the monitor position. The front-of-house console was a Midas Legend 3000 with a Midas Siena for the monitors.
